A New Chapter for Our School: Positive Changes on the Horizon

Exciting Times Ahead!

Our school is undergoing a remarkable transformation this year, thanks to a fresh leadership team and a renewed commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

A New Era of Leadership

We’re thrilled to welcome our new Principal, Deborah Frankin, to our school community. Her expertise and dedication are already making a significant impact. Under her guidance, we’re experiencing a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

Zero Tolerance for Bullying

One of our most important initiatives is our unwavering commitment to a bullying-free environment. We believe that every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. To that end, we’ve implemented robust anti-bullying policies and programs. Our goal is to foster a culture of kindness, empathy, and understanding.

A Structured and Supportive Learning Environment

We’re also working to create a more structured and supportive learning environment for our students. By providing a conducive atmosphere for learning, we aim to help our students reach their full potential.

Join Us on This Journey

We’re excited about the positive changes taking place at our school and invite you to be a part of this journey. Together, we can create a vibrant and thriving learning community where every student feels empowered to succeed.

Thank You, Teachers!

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re taking a moment to amplify our incredible instructional staff!

Teachers join our school with a desire to make a difference in the lives of children in our community. With hearts of gold, teachers create nurturing classroom environments, develop inspiring lesson plans, adapt instruction to meet individual needs, capitalize on real life teaching moments, support the social-emotional development of students & so much more.

Every school year, our teachers push themselves to the limit to reach each student in their care & to make a difference in each life. We are PROUD, APPRECIATIVE, and ADMIRING of our teachers for their meaningful work this school year. Please join us in thanking a teacher this week!

The ACCEL Schools Difference

We are a proud member of ACCEL Schools—a public charter school network serving thousands of PK-12 students throughout the United States. ACCEL was founded in 2012 by the early pioneers of online learning. Our leadership believes that all children, regardless of location or socio-economic background, deserve a quality education that prepares them to succeed in school and become productive global citizens.

ACCEL Schools Instructional Model provides:

  • Aligned Academics meet or exceed state standards ensuring your child is on track for rigorous college and career opportunities.
  • Certified, Licensed Teachers and a student-centered staff are united in executing our mission to make a difference in the life trajectory of each student.
  • More Time on Task and double the instructional minutes for ELA and Math maximizes learning in your child’s school day.
  • Short Cycle Assessments keep track of how students are progressing in the program, giving teachers ongoing feedback so they can tailor instruction to your student’s needs.
  • Individualized Instruction driven by assessment data means we are familiar with the needs of each child and set students up for success in each course of study.
  • State Testing Preparation reduces the anxiety often associated with high stakes tests, helping our teachers and students feel confident with the structure and methodology of state exams.
  • Academic Support including education technology, interventional specialists, and instructional aides assist students during the school day. After school tutoring, summer school, and Saturday school programs extend support services beyond the traditional school day and year.
  • Extracurricular Courses & Activities round out our educational offerings providing students social-emotional learning, athletics, arts, service learning & more.

Welcome Letter – July 2021

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Welcome:
It is indeed a pleasure to welcome all our returning students and our new students to the 2021-2022 school year! At this point with the covid-19 pandemic slowing down, we are not clear yet on the different learning modalities that will be offered. As soon as we know, you will surely be informed. Teachers and staff are excited and look forward to sharing many academic experiences with our students. It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the arrival of 2 international teachers from the Philippines who will be joining our staff this upcoming school year. As we partner with our families, we will work together to provide your student with the best possible education and educational experience. We plan to continue with the implementation of our Positive Behavior Support System (PBIS) Program to productively help our students with discipline issues regardless of the learning option they chose. Also, given the fact that our scholars have been out of school for almost six months, more than ever before, we want to establish a strong partnership with our families so we can work together to improve our students’ academic and social skills.

  • Please be reminded of the start time and end time of the school day:
    Instructional Start Time: 8:00 a.m.
    Instructional End Time: 3:00 p.m.
Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.

Educational Model:
We will continue to diligently and systematically implement programs and initiatives that will assist in providing a rigorous EDUCATION for our students. We will be implementing a new Literacy Plan designed to foster excellence in student’s ability to read with fluency and comprehension will be enhanced even further. Formative assessments will continue to provide information relative to the individual strengths and areas in need of IMPROVEMENT, for our students. Differentiated instruction will continue to provide individualized and tailored instruction for all students.

Lunch Applications:
Lunch applications will be sent home the first week of school. The lunch application needs to be completed by every family every year, even if your students are not going to eat a school lunch. Please return your lunch application to school as soon as possible. All students regardless of the learning option will be served breakfast and lunch.

First Day of School:
School began on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Doors to the school open at 7:30a.m. for all students. Breakfast is served from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m.
